Fox Presents: Amos Lee August 10



Amos Lee comes to Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30pm. Amos is a singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses folk, rock, and soul. He creates the rare kind of music that's emotionally raw yet touched with a certain magical quality. His eighth album is Dreamland.

KPND's Vic Frederickson will open the show! Special guest is Danielle Ponder.

Art on the Green is back in downtown CdA this weekend



The 54th Annual Art of the Green on the grounds of North Idaho College is this weekend, Friday through Sunday, August 5-7. Art on the Green's all-volunteer team will again bring together artists, musicians and performers for 3 days of free entertainment on 2 stages, handcrafted works of art for purchase, a Beer Garden, Food Court, an outdoor Juried Art Show and a Children's Art Garden for children of all ages to enjoy. Citizens' Council for the Arts, Inc, the non-profit that presents Art on the Green each summer, uses all proceeds from this all-volunteer festival and food court to donate needed art supplies to local schools and bring you 3 days of free entertainment.

Poetry Preludes to feature 4 Spokane Poets Laureate at Browne's Addition Summer Concerts



Spokane's Poet Laureate Chris Cook will be joined by his three predecessors for 'Poetry Prelude,' a special feature at the four August Browne's Addition Summer Concerts as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the series. Acting as administrator of a Spokane Arts grant submitted by Browne's Addition Neighborhood Council, Cook secured the participation of the previous poets who had served in the Poet Laureate positions: Laura Read, Thom Caraway and Mark Anderson. At 6pm, the poet will read one or two of their own works with possible thematic ties to neighborhoods, the outdoors and/or music before the band scheduled for that night.

August 11: Laura Read, poetry; Free Whiskey, music
August 18: Thom Caraway, poetry; Soul Proprietor, music
August 25: Mark Anderson, poetry; Brassworks, music

The concerts are from 6-8pm in Coeur d'Alene Park in Browne's Addition. Poetry Prelude is funded by a SAGA Grant from Spokane Arts.


Jim Gaffigan at the Spokane Arena August 9



Comedian Jim Gaffigan's The Fun Tour is making a stop in Spokane at the Arena on Tuesday, August 9 at 7pm. Jim's comedy is hilarious! He's a six-time Grammy-nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer and author, known for his unique brand of humor, which largely revolves around his observations on life.

Inland NW Opera night at the MAC tomorrow



Inland Northwest Opera presents beloved selections from its opera and musical theater repertoire on the MAC's front lawn, tomorrow, August 5 at 7pm. Featuring internationally acclaimed performers, this one-night-only event brings back a once treasured MAC tradition - with a twist. Beer garden opens at 5:30pm. Admission is free, donations to the MAC are welcomed the night of the performance.

Downtown Street Fair in CdA this weekend



The downtown Coeur d'Alene Street Fair is this weekend with over 250 vendors. A true Street Fair with food, fine art, crafts, clothing, and more. The Street Fair runs this Friday & Saturday, August 5 & 6 from 10am-8pm, and Sunday, August 7 from 10am-5pm and is organized by Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association.
