Thursday, December 23, 2021 New Year's Eve with the Spokane Symphony: Beethoven's Ninth
The Spokane Symphony continues its beloved tradition of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony on New Year's Eve - the monumental work dedicated to freedom, joy and brotherhood. This year the concert is conducted for the first time by Music Director James Lowe on Friday, December 31, 7:30pm at Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. The concert is only one hour long, leaving plenty of time to continue the celebration afterward. The Spokane Symphony Orchestra is joined by the Spokane Symphony Chorale, plus Amy Porter, Soprano, Patti Mortier, Mezzo-Soprano, and other soloists TBA.

 MasterClass Big Band New Year's Eve Maskuerade Bash at the Knitting Factory
MasterClass Big Band featuring Jim Swoboda presents MASKuerade Bash at the Knitting Factory New Year's Eve, Friday, December 31 at 9pm. Live music and dancing all night from the area's top artists. The night opens with the award-winning Bobby Patterson and the Two Tones, playing the best in Blues/Rock, then transitions to a variety of dance favorites from MasterClass Big Band featuring Jim Swoboda.
Prizes will be given to the best decorated masks during the show. Decorate your mask and judges will be walking around the event to pick out the best. VIP tickets are available to include appetizers and desserts and a private bar area. Under 21 attendees will be allowed on the dance floor and the upper area so it's an all-ages event. MasterClass was formed 14 years ago as a way to bring outstanding young musicians and professionals together to perform a wide variety of musical genres. Bobby Patterson and the Two Tones are representing WA state in the International Blues competition in Memphis later in 2022.

Louis Comfort Tiffany Exhibit continues at the MAC
Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection exhibit continues at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, featuring more than 60 objects, spanning 30 years of Tiffany's prolific career. This exhibition, focusing on Tiffany's magnificent stained-glass windows, floral vases, lamps, and decorative accessories, revels in the artistry and craftsmanship of the Tiffany artworks from Chicago's distinguished Richard H. Driehaus Collection, highlighting masterworks never before presented in a comprehensive exhibition.

 Anastasia coming to First Interstate Center December 28
From the Tony Award-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, this dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Anastasia has eight performances at First Interstate Center for the Arts, from Tuesday, December 28 through Sunday, January 2.
Anastasia features a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new score by Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) with direction by Tony Award-winner Darko Tresnjak.

 Northwest Winterfest continues through January 2
Northwest Winterfest continues through Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. This year's event includes a large selection of holiday lantern displays and cultural celebration. You can tour dozens of lighted lantern displays, walk at your own pace and enjoy the magical lights, food booths, beer, wine, and hot drinks booth, and merchandise store. Hours are 5-9pm.
