Return of the Spokane Symphony this weekend at the Fox!



Celebrating their 76th year, the Spokane Symphony's Masterworks 1 with Music Director James Lowe is at the Fox Theater this Saturday, September 18 at 8pm and Sunday, September 19 at 3pm. Musical guest is violinist Bella Hristova, who will join the Symphony in a performance of Jean Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor, Op.47. Other musical selections include Adolphus Hailstork, Fanfare on Amazing Grace, and Johannes Brahms, Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op.73. You can experience a behind-the-scenes look at how Masterworks performances are perfected. Watch the inner workings of the orchestra as James Lowe, the musicians and guest artist shape and polish each work in the final rehearsal. This runs from 10am to Noon.

Audubon Exhibit at the MAC - Final Weekend



American Original: The Life and Work of John James Audubon exhibit has been going strong at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture all summer long, but this is the last week you'll get to view the exhibit. It runs this week through this Sunday, September 19. See amazing wildlife illustrations and artifacts from the famous artist and naturalist John James Audubon. Another nature-themed exhibit closing this Sunday is Justin Gibbens: Birds and Beasts.

The Revel Event this Saturday



For something fun, stop by Revel Coffee this Saturday, September 18, from 7-10pm for a special event featuring the pre-launch of sicvisual.com. The evening also includes an art exhibition by Vaunn Yevo, (artwork pictured above), a fashion show featuring international fashion brand Falguni Shane Peacock, music, hors d'oeuvres and crafted coffee bar created by the folks at Revel. This will be a fun evening!

West End OktoberFest this Saturday



The West End Oktoberfest is a beer festival in the heart of downtown Spokane's West End, with five participating breweries: River City Brewing, Iron Goat Brewing, The Golden Handle Project, Whistle Punk Brewing and Brick West Brewing. It's this Saturday, September 18 from 8am-8pm. A ticket purchase gets you a special Oktoberfest mug, a festival program and $3 pours of all Oktoberfest beers at all locations. Each brewery will have live entertainment.
