Inlander's Summer Guide hits stands today!



All you need to know for great summer fun is inside this week's Inlander. New exhibit opens at the MAC June 12



What We Make: Nature as Inspiration is a new interactive family exhibition opening at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture this Saturday, June 12. Visitors will explore the relationship between makers and nature and discover how the landscape inspires art-making through the works and relationship of Northwest artists Wesley Wehr and Joseph Goldberg. You'll see the use of natural materials in millinery and its many different forms and learn the story of a blacksmith who flew the first plane in the Inland Northwest. This exhibition runs through January 9, 2022 and is the first in a series of What We Make shows that feature a maker space within an exhibit.

Manito Plant Sale continues today through Saturday

These are the last few days of the Friends of Manito's June Plant Sale, today, Thursday, June 10 through this Saturday, June 12. Hours are 8am-3pm. This year, due to the pandemic, shoppers are required to sign up for timeslots in order to attend. The sale will take place in the fenced area near the Manito Meeting Room and Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park.

Stand Up Comedy at the Ruby River Hotel Thursdays

Join the Friends of the Bing for Social Hour Comedy every Thursday night at the Ruby River Hotel. Tonight, Thursday, June 10, Cameron Mazzuca performs. Admission is $10, doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:30. Friends of the Bing members receive 20% off all food items purchased.

Josh Turner coming to First Interstate Center September 29



For nearly two decades, Josh Turner has been one of country music's most recognizable voices, selling more than 8.5 million units and amassing more than 2.5 billion global streams. He comes to the First Interstate Center for the Arts on Wednesday, September 29 with special guest Heath Sanders.

Mozart On A Summer's Eve concerts return this summer

Celebrate the return to live music with Northwest BachFest in Manito Park. Concert performances are Tuesday, July 20 and Wednesday, July 21. Artistic Director Zuill Bailey will introduce Mozart On A Summer's Eve audiences to the Shelly Watson, soprano, and Richard Dowling and Matt Herskowitz, piano. Zuill will perform as well.

The entire area will open at 5:30pm for pre-concert picnics in all of the seating areas. There is no catering service available, so all food and beverages will be that brought in by ticket holders. Concert begins at 7pm. Reserved table seating and lawn seating tickets are available now, but in limited numbers this year to avoid crowding.

This week's music at Arbor Crest



The Summer concert series continues at Arbor Crest on Thursday and Sunday evenings through September. This Thursday, June 10, Son of Brad performs, and on Sunday, June 13, Rock Band Rewind takes the stage. Music runs from 5:30-7:30pm. Food, wine and beer available for purchase. All guests attending must purchase a General Admission Ticket for admittance to the concert grounds. VIP reserved seating available.

Hasan Minhaj coming to First Interstate Center November 16



Hasan Minhaj is bringing the laughter to Spokane on Tuesday, November 16. Minhaj was the host and creator of the weekly comedy show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj that premiered on Netflix in October 2018. The series explored the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity through his unique comedic voice. He also received rave reviews for his performance hosting the 2017 White House Correspondents' Dinner, and for his one-hour Netflix comedy special Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King. He joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as a correspondent in November 2014, where he was Jon's last hire. He continued on in that role after Trevor Noah took over as host the following year and remained on the show through August 2018.
