Dressing the Abbey Exhibit at the MAC closes May 2



Don't miss the Dressing the Abbey exhibition at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture. The exhibit closes this Sunday, May 2. See the iconic wardrobe of the award-winning drama, Downton Abbey featuring 35 costumes worn by the stars of the acclaimed series about British aristocrats and their servants set on a fictional country estate. The exhibition presents a fashion history of the period surrounding World War I. A fine selection from the series' wardrobe, reflects on the changing times through fashion from 1912 to the mid-1920s.

Other great exhibits are on display, including Reclaiming Culture: The Tlingit and Haida Tribes of Alaska Repatriation. This exhibit includes 16 items of cultural significance returning to the Tlingit homeland, which also closes May 2. For tickets and more information visit northwestmuseum.org.


Spokane Symphony Spring Concerts Series continues April 30



Spokane Symphony @ Home Presents 'Overtones: Connecting Music, Art & Science', on demand concerts that began in early April. The third concert in the series is this Friday, April 30, and explores 'Individualism,' featuring music that spotlights soloists (Haydn's Symphony No. 8) and music that blends instruments together (Mozart's Symphony No. 33). A visit with Spokane Falls Community College Philosophy Chair Britni Weaver explores individualism's evolution and impact on the way we see the world. Concerts also include short video segments of James Lowe chatting with orchestra musicians about their backgrounds and thoughts about classical music.

Arbor Crest Summer Concerts begin May 2



Arbor Crest's popular summer concert series begins for the season this Sunday, May 2 and features Side Step. This year's Concert Series offers well-known as well as up and coming entertainment acts on Thursday and Sunday evenings throughout the season. Concerts are outside and you can enjoy beautiful views from the Arbor Crest grounds, food and wine are available or purchase.

Concerts run from 5:30-7:30 through August and 4:30-6:30 in September. Reserved table seating is available. Admission is $8 on Thursdays and $15 on Sundays. For tickets and more information, visit arborcrest.com.


Custer's Virtual Spring Show ends May 1



This year, Custer's Spring Arts & Crafts Show is virtual, and participants represent artists and crafters that were accepted into one or more of the Custer 2020 planned shows. You can find many different items, from ceramics, painted fabric, jewelry, leather good, metal work, photography, woodworking and more. This show ends this Saturday, May 1.
