Spokane Symphony presents the Music of Harry Potter this weekend at the Fox



Ancient Tales of Magic: the Music of Harry Potter and other Halloween Favorites - three concerts this with the Spokane Symphony this Saturday and Sunday at Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. The Spokane Symphony is joined by actors, dancers and a magician to explore musical tales of wizards, witches, and magical creatures from the world of Harry Potter and other Halloween favorites. The Spokane Symphony will perform John Williams' music from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Spooky classical music selections are also included.

Concert attendees are invited to dress up in costume and participate in family-friendly activities. Doors open 90 minutes before each concert. Performances are this Saturday, October 26 at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday, October 27 at 3pm. Tickets are available at www.spokanesymphony.org or call 509-624-1200.


Norman Rockwell's America continues at the MAC



Enjoy a remarkable collection of 22 paintings and seven drawings as well as original posters and all 323 vintage Saturday Evening Post magazine covers spanning six decades, allowing for a comprehensive look at Rockwell's distinguished career as the best-known and most beloved American artist of the 20th century.

This Saturday, October 26 at 5pm, there is a special program at the MAC: Norman Rockwell Step-by-Step: How He Created His Iconic Paintings, presented by artist Jason Dowd. You'll see a live demonstration of Rockwell's painting techniques. Dowd will start with an overview of Rockwell's methods and follow with a step-by-step recreation of Rockwell's painting, Full Treatment. Registration is $20.
