The biggest music event of the year starts next Wednesday!



Pig out on more than 100 free concerts Wednesday, August 28-Monday, Labor Day as the 40th annual Pig Out in the Park takes over Riverfront. Four stages with continuous entertainment noon-10pm, 57 food booths with 245 cheap menu items, four adult beverage gardens and a six-day public market.

NW BachFest Summer Classics Concerts August 25 & 29

Northwest BachFest presented by Connoisseur Concerts is a year-around presenter of classical music concerts, and this month is August Summer Classics, with concerts on Sunday, August 25 and Thursday, August 29.

On Sunday, at 7pm, concert is Spanish Nights, the Passionate Music of Spain, at Barrister Winery, 1213 W. Railroad Avenue, with Artistic Director and 2017 Grammy Award-Winning Cellist Zuill Bailey.

On Thursday, at 7:30pm. The Teenage Chopin - Early Genius is presented with Richard Dowling, piano, also at Barrister Winery.

The Music of Elton John by Michael Cavanaugh & the Spokane Symphony



You won't want to miss 'The Amazing Michael Cavanaugh' performing the songs of Elton John, Friday, September 6 at 8pm at Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. Cavanaugh wowed Spokane audiences performing the music of Billy Joel with the Spokane Symphony. Pink Floyd lives on!

Norman Rockwell's America comes to the MAC October 5



Norman Rockwell America, coming to the MAC beginning Saturday, October 5, exhibits a remarkable collection of 22 oil paintings, seven charcoal or graphite studies, original posters and all 323 vintage Saturday Evening Post magazine covers spanning six decades. This exhibition reviews selected works in chronological order, making the stages of his career recognizable and his images more poignant. These original works give the viewer a chance to see Rockwell's accomplished technique and superb craftsmanship, which are sometimes overlooked in the more widely seen reproductions of his work.

References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot at Stage Left



Stage Left Theater presents References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot, directed by Juan A. Mas, as the opener for the 2019-2020 Beyond Barriers season. The goal of the season is to engage the audience in exploring and celebrating the struggles of individuals and communities in an intimate stage setting.

The show runs from Friday, September 6- Sunday, September 22, with Thursday performances offered after opening week. Also, a talk-back opportunity is offered directly after the Friday, September 13 show.

The Mountain Goats at the Bing September 1



The Mountain Goats take the stage at the Bing Crosby Theater, Sunday, September 1 at 8pm. The Mountain Goats are John Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Jon Wurster, and Matt Douglas. They have been making music together as a quartet for several years. Their songs often seek out dark lairs within which terrible monsters dwell, but their mission is to retrieve the treasure from the dark lair and persuade the terrible monsters inside to seek out the path of redemption.
