The Spokane Symphony Presents The Music of Queen: A Rock Symphony



The Spokane Symphony 'will rock you' with the classic music of Queen in this electric symphonic-rock tribute with Martin Herman, Conductor and Brody Dolyniuk, Vocalist. Amped up with a fabulous rock band, glittering light show, and top-notch vocals, Queen's distinct sound is captured in its entirety. With spot-on inflections and virtuosic playing, you'll experience the wall of sound that made Freddie and Queen world famous. With killer Queen hits like 'Somebody to Love,' 'Under Pressure,' 'We Are the Champions,' 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' and more.

The Saturday, January 26 performance is sold out, but a new show has been added on Friday, January 25. Both performances are at 8pm. The Black Art Jazz Collective at SFCC January 23

Spokane Symphony offers Free Tickets to furloughed Federal Govt workers for upcoming events

The Spokane Symphony Orchestra is offering free tickets to furloughed federal government workers who want to attend one of this weekend's Classics 5: Dvorak and Rachmaninoff concerts at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. They may choose either Saturday, January 19 at 8pm or Sunday, January 20 at 3pm.

The other option for free tickets is the Fox Family Series show, Cirque Zuma Zuma on Friday, February 1 at 7pm at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

The Spokane Symphony will provide up to four free tickets for one event to each furloughed employee affected by the government shutdown, Symphony Executive Director Jeff vom Saal announced today. "We are sorry for the hardships our federal workers have had to endure during the shutdown. We want to offer our friends some wonderful music and entertainment to give them the happiness that live music and the performing arts can provide," vom Saal said.

The tickets are only for federal workers who are not receiving paychecks during the shutdown. The complimentary tickets are available to federal workers who bring a valid government I.D. to the Box Office at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox today through Friday from 10am to 5pm. No orders will be taken over the phone or online. For questions, call the Box Office at 509-624-1200. Tickets will be available while supplies last.


Artistry in Motion at the Bing

Artistry in Motion brings a production showcasing dancers, vocalists, and actors to the Bing Crosby Theater for two nights, Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24 at 6:30pm each night. Enjoy the beautiful view from the Cliff House Estate at Arbor Crest, at the Fireside Music series in their tasting room this Friday and Saturday night, from 5:30-7:30. On Friday, January 18, the music of Kevin Gardner, performing rock/pop, and on Saturday, January 19, Nobody Famous Trio performs rock/jazz. Both concerts, no cover.

Fox Family Series: Cirque Zuma Zuma February 1 at the Fox



America's Got Talent finalist, Cirque Zuma Zuma, combines the mystique of Africa with the excitement of a theatrical circus performance. With live music and drummers, this action-packed show includes 16 acts, with aerial feats, dances, tumbling, chair balancing, juggling, comedy, and human pyramids. The show, touring around the world since 2005, has been described as an African-style 'Cirque du Soleil.' This Fox Family show is designed for the whole family, and starts at 7pm. The fifteen cast members come from Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Botswana. Audience members will learn about African culture and get a chance to practice chants and different languages.
