Black Violin coming to the Fox Saturday

Don't miss Fox Presents Black Violin, returning to the Fox as part of their 'Classical Boom Tour' this Saturday, November 17 at 8pm. Black Violin features classically trained violist and violinist Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus who combine classical and hip-hop influences to create a distinctive multi-genre sound that is often described as 'classical boom.'

Art Spirit Gallery Holiday show opens Friday

On November 16, The Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene, unveils its 20th annual holiday exhibition featuring small artworks by over 30 local and regional artists priced from $20-$500. There are over 600 pieces in all!

This unique show opens two weeks earlier this year, allowing more time for holiday shopping. The opening reception is this Friday, November 16 from 5-8pm. Meet the artists and enjoy the holiday cheer. A second reception will be held on Friday, December 14 from 5-8 pm in conjunction with ArtWalk. The show runs through January 5. New work will continue to rotate through the holiday season.

Holiday Wine Fest this Weekend

The twenty one tasting rooms of Spokane's Cork District will be featuring new releases, specials, art, entertainment and food pairings for this year's Holiday Wine Fest, happening this Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18. An Evening With Coco Montoya this Friday at Chateaux Rive

World-renowned guitarist and vocalist Coco Montoya comes to Chateau Rive in the Flour Mill this Friday, November 16 at 8pm. Taught by the 'Master of the Telecaster,' Albert Collins, but with a hard-edged sound and style all his own, Montoya mixes his forceful, melodic guitar playing and passionate vocals with memorable songs. Montoya has released eight solo albums including three for Alligator between 2000 and 2007, and has played at clubs, concert halls and major festivals all over the world.

Santa comes to River Park Square Nov 16

Join River Park Square to welcome Santa this Friday, November 16 from 6-7pm. The festivities will feature free hot chocolate and face painting, as well as a special performance from Spokane Civic Theatre's cast of 'Elf the Musical' and the chance to interact with some very special elves all the way from the North Pole! Santa will arrive at 7pm sharp and light the 50 foot holiday tree to kick off the season. This fun event will get you in the holiday spirit!

Thursday Night Live at the NW MAC

Join the NW Museum of Arts and Culture on the third Thursday of the month, for Thursday Night Live, featuring a rotating mix of live music, engaging programs and food and drink. This Thursday, November 15 from 5-8pm, enjoy two live performances by the professional dance company, Vytal Movement Dance at 6:30pm and 7:30pm in the Modern Masters: Group f/64 exhibition gallery. Get additional perspective on current exhibits in one of the two 20-minute gallery talks led by collections staff at 6 and 7pm. Meet artist Doug Martindale and his solo exhibition of recent works from 5-7pm in the Helen South Alexander Gallery. Hear compelling, dramatic, and humorous stories from author David Jepsen about how the Pacific Northwest was won from his new book 'Contested Boundaries' at 6:30pm in the Eric A. Johnston Auditorium (suggested donation $10). Or take a class in clay hand building with wine from artist Liz Bishop from 5:45 to 7:45pm.

No-host beer and wine (21 and over with ID), and food items and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase at the Cafe MAC from 5-7:30pm. Admission is free for members and just $5 for non-members.

Family Photo Studio at the Campbell House this Saturday

On Saturday, November 17 from 10:30am-4pm the Campbell House Library will be open for family photos. Cost is $50/group (up to 8 people). Includes professional photo sitting, two high quality digital images, and same-day admission to Campbell House and its carriage house exhibits. Proceeds support ongoing Campbell House restoration.

Furrball is Saturday night

Spokane Humane Society 19th Annual Furrball Fundraising Gala is this Saturday, November 17 at The Davenport Grand. Doors open at 5:30, social at 6 and dinner at 7pm. The Furrball was given the Bronze Award from Spokane CDA Living Magazine as the Best Charity Gala. The event features a great Silent Auction and 10 different decorated trees for Loud Auction. All proceeds benefit the animals of Spokane Humane Society.

New show at New Moon Art Gallery

New Moon Art Gallery, at 1326 E Sprague Avenue, opens a new exhibition this Friday, November 16, featuring the works of Dan Droz. Droz combines his love of music, sculpture, and recycling into imaginative pieces of functional art. His sculptures, whether they hang on the wall or stand-alone infuse an aesthetic ideal into objects that you might never have expected to view as art. To top off the theme, acrylic and watercolor painters Vicky Cavin and Betty Bradley are bringing a splash of musical energy through their depictions of musicians and dancers.

Custer's Christmas Arts & Crafts show this weekend

Custer's 42nd Annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Show is coming this weekend, Friday-Sunday, November 16-18 to the Spokane Fair & Expo Center, featuring 300 Artisans from across the Northwest displaying and selling their Fine Art, Hand Craft and Specialty Foods. Art Glass, Metal Sculpture, Mixed Media, Jewelry, Functional Pottery, Photography, Clothing, Painting, Wood Working, Whimsical Signs, Seasonal Decor and and much more.
