Titans of the Ice Age opens at the Northwest Museum Feb 11

Titans of the Ice Age: Mammoths and Mastodons, is a new exhibit to open this Saturday, February 11 at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture in Browne's Addition. Journey back in time millions of years ago when mammoths and mastodons roamed the earth. See baby Lyuba, the 42,000-year-old baby woolly mammoth, the most complete mammoth ever discovered. Explore how mammoths and mastodons lived with other giant creatures like short-faced bears and saber-toothed cats. Live among these larger than life creatures for a day, in a hands-on, interactive exhibition. Explore this 8,500 square-foot traveling exhibition from The Field Museum of Chicago, which taps into the spirit of scientific exploration, discovery, and curiosity with a specimen and media rich display.

Original artistic creations include environmental murals, life-sized replications, and soundscapes. Collection pieces from the museum will accompany the exhibition with an unveiling of a mammoth-sized Pleistocene display in the museum's group entry, created by artist Peter Thomas.

Visit www.northwestmuseum.org for hours of operation and admission information.
