Indigo Girls to Perform with Spokane Symphony this Saturday



The Spokane Symphony and Assistant Conductor Jorge Luis Uzcategui will be the power behind the folk iconic duo Indigo Girls this Saturday, October 15, 8pm at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. The Grammy Award-winning duo, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, will perform a playlist of their classic songs along with selections from their latest album One Lost Day.

A Fine and Pleasant Misery: the Humor of Patrick McManus starring Tim Behrens at SCC Oct 22



Northwest Mediation Center (NMC), a regional non-profit organization, presents a special benefit performance of the first of all the McManus Comedies, A Fine and Pleasant Misery, by Patrick F. McManus, starring Tim Behrens. Pat and Tim are donating their fees to this fine dispute resolution center in honor of the hard work they do, so all ticket income goes directly to NMC.

The one-man Show introduces 12 zany McManus characters, from Rancid Crabtree to daft old Mrs. Swisher. The McManus Comedies are family friendly, hilarious stories about growing up in rural America when you're dirt poor.

This benefit performance will be on Saturday, October 22, 7:30pm at the Lair Auditorium on the Spokane Community College Campus. Tickets are $25 and are available at www.brownpapertickets.com. Type in Pat McManus or Tim Behrens to go to event page.

MOMIX Magic Returns to Spokane with All New Opus Cactus



Fox Presents welcomes back international modern dance sensation MOMIX with their new full-length production Opus Cactus this Sunday, October 16, 7pm at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. During the company's previous appearance, the near sold out show kept the audience mesmerized.

Originally, created as a 20 minute piece in 2001, Opus Cactus is a full evening of illusionistic dance and imagination, inspired by the American Southwest desert. A kaleidoscope of color and body formations, MOMIX blends dance and theatrical illusion for adults and children alike. This dynamic journey into the hidden landscape of the American Southwest includes a sense of danger, sensuality and humor. The desert world of soaring cactuses, slithering lizards, snakes and frolicking insects all come to life through the magic of MOMIX.

Aspire Community Theater presents Little Shop of Horrors coming Oct 20

Aspire Community Theatre (ACT), is producing their first main stage production, the musical favorite, Little Shop of Horrors, written by Broadway legends, Howard Ashman (Book & Lyrics) and Alan Menken (Music).

ACT is helmed by Trigger Weddle who is no stranger to the local theatre and dance scene. Weddle has directed and choreographed many local productions, is a choreographer and teacher at Northern Dance Academy, has served as an adjunct Theatre instructor at North Idaho College, and has recently been seen in area productions as a performer.

Aspire Community Theatre, offers a conservatory approach to theatre education, and provides something tangible to work on for the artists in our area. In addition to main stage productions, Aspire Community Theatre will offer Master Classes, smaller scale performance opportunities,and technical experience to the theatre artist.

Circling Raven Golf Club Tournament Benefits Kootenai Health Foundation



Circling Raven Golf Club at the Coeur d'Alene Casino is hosting the Golf for Pink tournament on Thursday, October 20, benefitting the Kootenai Health Foundation and the cancer patient support fund. Last year the event raised more than $3,000 to support breast cancer research.
