LAXfest this weekend



You could call it a lovefest for LAXfest. Spokane's ultimate weekend of youth lacrosse action is shattering expectations with huge interest from teams all over the northwest. LAXfest is maxed out with 70 teams competing from Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana.

Hosted by Spokane Youth Lacrosse, LAXfest will be held this Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22 at Spokane's Polo Fields near Airway Heights. With more than 150 games throughout the weekend, games run all day Saturday, 8am-7pm. On Sunday, game times are 9am-3pm.

Drag Races this weekend at Spokane County Raceway



Great drag races this weekend as Spokane County Raceway presents The NHRA Northwest Division Drag Races this Friday through Sunday, May 20-22. Tickets are $12 each day. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Go to spokanecountyraceway.com for all the details.


Coeur d'Alene Park celebrates 125 years with intersection art

The first celebration event for Browne's Addition's Coeur d'Alene Park's 125th Anniversary will be held Saturday, May 21 from 9am to 5pm. Four teams of people, each led by a paid professional artist who has created a design, will paint large-scale art on the street in four intersections around Coeur d'Alene Park - 2nd and Spruce, 2nd and Chestnut, 4th and Chestnut and 3rd and Spruce.

It's not too early to think about Christmas



Christmas seems a long way off, but you can beat the holiday rush and buy your tickets now to Coeur d'Alene's Traditions of Christmas Show presented by Laura Little Theatrical Productions. The show, now in its 5th year, runs December 9 through 23 at Coeur d'Alene's Kroc Center.

This week's music at Arbor Crest

The Estate at Arbor Crest is the place to be for great music this week. This Thursday, May 19, saxman/guitartist Eric Neuhausser performs, beginning at 5:30pm. The evening also features a Jewelry display by artist Janet Cook. No cover charge.

On Friday, May 20, enjoy the music of singer/songwriter Just Plain Darin from 5:30-7:30, no cover charge.

And on Sunday, May 22, travel back to the British Invasion with Meet Revolver, as they recreate the Beatles experience complete with the suits, boots, and period specific instruments. Music begins at 5:30 and continues until sunset. There is an $8 admission for Sunday concerts.

Hennessey planning Memorial Day event May 29 & 30

Hennessey Funeral Homes is planning a big Memorial Day celebration Sunday and Monday, May 29 and 30 from 9am to 4pm. Entertainment by the Spokane Brass Works Band, shows about Eleanor Roosevelt, Edward R. Murrow, and Harry Truman, a replica of Abraham Lincoln's coffin, antique car show, refreshments and more, all at Hennessey's Spokane location, 2203 North Division.

Treasure! Continues at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture

The 'Treasure!' exhibit at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture is continuing through Sunday, May 29 and features more than 1,000 treasures, from sunken ships, to the museum's own never before seen collections, to treasures of local residents.

Schauer and Landron play at Nodland Cellars Friday
