The NW Museum of Arts & Culture's Annual Mother's Day Tour May 7 & 8



Enjoy one of Spokane's great traditions, the 27th Annual Mother's Day Tour of Historic Homes, presented by the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture. This year's tour will feature two rarely-seen beautiful homes on West Sumner Ave. Homes will be open from cellar to attic, showcasing both families who live there and the history of the neighborhood. You will also be able to see Dorothy Dean's kitchen (The Spokesman-Review famous Recipe Author), Myrtle Woldson's impressive Garden, and great views of Spokane. The tour also includes viewing of historic automobiles, live music, and a self-guided walking tour of the neighborhood.

The tour runs from 12-4pm on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 (Mother's Day). Admission is $20 for non-members, and $15 for members. Tickets available at www.northwestmuseum.org. Tickets will also be sold in front of both open homes.

Spokane Symphony Classics Season Finale this Saturday & Sunday



This weekend's Classics Series is 'Blockbusters' and includes the Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, and Respighi's Fountains of Rome. Eckart Preu conducts and guest pianist is Ian Parker, who will also give a Master Class lecture on Friday, May 6 at 3pm with free admission to the class.

Performances are this Saturday, May 7 at 8pm and Sunday, May 8 at 3pm at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. Learn more about the concert at www.spokanesymphony.org.

Arbor Crest's Summer Concert Season starts tomorrow!



Great news from Arbor Crest Wine Cellars. Their popular Summer concert series starts tomorrow, Thursday, May 5, as 'Performers on the Patio' gets underway. Musical guest is singer/songwriter Nate Ostrander, playing easy-listening, bluesy, contemporary rock. Thursday concerts will also feature artists in various mediums displaying their art. This week, Dave Hodgson will exhibit his photography. Music runs from 5:30-7:30pm, no cover.

And this Sunday, May 8, 'Concerts of the Cliff' will feature the dynamic rockin' blues trio, The West Side Cobras. Music runs from 5:30-sunset. $8 admission.

So, every Thursday and Sunday all summer long (through September) Arbor Crest's Cliff House Estate is the place to be for live music and great wine on their beautiful estate grounds. Perfect time for a picnic! Wine, beer and food available for purchase.

Even more good news from Arbor Crest. Due to popular demand, live music that was featured in this winter's Fireside Concert series will continue on selected Friday evenings through the season, starting this Friday, May 6. The McManus Comedies starring Tim Behrens at the Pend Oreille Playhouse, May 13 & 14



The Pend Oreille Players Association presents the first of all the McManus Comedies, A Fine and Pleasant Misery, by Patrick F. McManus, starring Tim Behrens. Performances will be Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. Doors open at 7pm and show begins at 7:30. The one-man show introduces 12 zany McManus characters, from Rancid Crabtree to daft old Mrs. Swisher, from Strange the Dog, to a deer on a bicycle. This family-friendly comedy is full of hilarious stories about growing up in rural America.
