International Guitar Night at the Bing Sunday

This Sunday, January 24 at 8pm is International Guitar Night at the Bing Crosby Theater, bringing together four of the world's foremost acoustic guitarists performing their latest original compositions and exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting.

Each tour, IGN founder Brian Gore invites a new cast of guitar luminaries to join him for special evenings of solos, duets and quartets that highlight the virtuosity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. Brian will be joined by three of Europe's leading acoustic guitarists: Gypsy Jazz legend Lulo Reinhardt, contemporary fingerstyle innovator Mike Dawes and multi-genre showman Andre Krengel.

Spokane Symphony Classics concert this weekend at the Fox



The theme for this weekend's Spokane Symphony Classics series is: Love Hurts. Join conductor Eckart Preu and the Spokane Symphony for a musical journey of passion and emotion. Musical selections include Don Juan by Strauss, Mozart's Piano Concerto, and Romeo and Juliet selections by Prokofiev. Guest Pianist is Alon Goldstein.

Performances are this Saturday, January 23 at 8pm and Sunday, January 24 at 3pm. Learn about the inspiration and drama behind the music during the pre-concert talks with conductor Eckart Preu and guest pianist Alon Goldstein, which will be one hour before each concert.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the Civic

'Les Liaisons Dangereuses' (Dangerous Liaisons) is a French tale of seduction among aristocrats before the revolution. This classic drama explores decadent sexuality, morals, and manipulation played as the ultimate game with tragic results. The film, 'Dangerous Liaisons,' starred Glenn Close, John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The stage show is at Spokane Civic Theatre now through January 31. This production is rated PG-13. Some content may not be appropriate for all audiences.

Spokane String Quartet at the Fox Jan 31



The Spokane String Quartet brings energy and excitement to the middle of winter, at Martin Woldson Theatre at the Fox, Sunday, January 31 at 3pm with music by three of Russia's best-known composers: Sergei Prokofiev, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Dmitri Shostakovich.

Va Piano Vineyards to Open Tasting Room in the Davenport Hotel

Va Piano Vineyards, a premier winery located in Walla Walla, Washington, will be opening a tasting room in Spokane's Historic Davenport Hotel. This is an extension of the main tasting room in Walla Walla and is slated for a March 4-6 Grand Opening.

Spokane Symphony Plays the Music of Star Wars

The Spokane Symphony announces a special concert featuring some of the most popular movie music ever: the themes from the two 'Star Wars' trilogies. Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara is putting together an exciting program of music from the epic multi-film saga, along with a selection of complementary music that will delight the Star Wars fan in all of us.

The concert will be on Friday, March 4 at 8pm at the Martin Wolds on Theater at The Fox.

Since George Lucas launched the first Star Wars film in 1977, the multi-film saga has enjoyed immense popularity and played a significant role in popular culture. And from the start, the music composed by John Williams for the two film trilogies has become the most widely known and popular scores from modern film.

This week's Fireside Music at Arbor Crest

This Thursday, January 21, singer/guitarist Evan Denlinger performs as part of Arbor Crest's Fireside Music Series. And on Friday, January 22, singer/guitarist Karrie O'Neiill will perform.

Music runs from 5:30-7:30pm both nights (no cover), and Arbor Crest's Tasting Room and Wine Bar is open from 5-8pm on concert nights. Wine, beer and food available for purchase.

HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington, photo exhibit at Convention Center

The Spokane Convention Center presents HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington, a juried fine art photography exhibition highlighting the food products that are grown and harvested in Washington State. The limited showing exhibition is on display now through February.

More than 60 unique works are presented through the lenses of 44 Northwest photographers. The works represent 28 counties in the state and are themed around the robust agricultural industry and the people who sustain its production and heritage.

The Convention Center contains several permanent art installations that aim to enrich the overall experience of guests, but this is the first traveling exhibition on display. The show traveled to Spokane after previously being on display at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle and will move to the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick at the end of February.

HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington is free and open during public event hours at the facility. It is located on the second level promenade. The public event schedule can be found at spokanecenter.com/event-calendar.
