The Davenport Grand Hotel's Table 13, soft opening today and tomorrow

Sustainable Living Fair Spokane Sept 19

The first Annual Sustainable Living Fair will be held this Saturday, September 19 from 11am to 6pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Ft. George Wright Drive. This event will be an opportunity to showcase environmentally friendly organizations, businesses, and technologies to the local community. It will include more than fifty local vendors, as well as live music and children's activities. Sustainable Living Fair Spokane is sponsored by PacifiCAD, a Spokane business since 1989, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, established in 1887.

There will be many participants, including Alice's Vintage and Craft, Auntie's Bookstore, Art Salvage Spokane, Better Body Fitness, Citizens' Climate Lobby, Earthship, EWU Urban & Regional Planning, Edible Tree Project, and many more.

There will also be musical performances by Keleren & Michael Milham of Sidhe, Tommy Gant, Carey Brazil, and Jay Condiotti and Ron Reed, among others.

Spokane Interstate Fair continues through Sunday

Variety Pak at Southside Community Center Sept. 18

This Friday, September 18, is the first in a series of Friday Night Dances at the Southside Senior & Community Center with Variety Pak, a longtime, local dance band, playing music from the 20s through the 80s, all great, danceable tunes. The Pak members are Leslie Ann Grove and Keith LaMotte alternating trumpets, flugelhorns and vocals, bassist Kyle Pugh, and Marv Richter on drums. They will also feature a fifth guest artist at every concert, on guitar or keyboards.

Upcoming Friday night dances are October 23, November 13, and December 18. The evening runs from 7 to 9:30pm. Beer, wine and finger food will be available. Cost is $8 for members and students, $10 for non-members and you pay at the door. Southside Senior & Community Center is located at 3151 East 27th Ave on Spokane's south hill.

George Winston performs at the Kroc Center Sept 23



Grammy Award winning pianist George Winston will perform a solo piano concert on Wednesday September 23, at the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene. Show begins at 7:30pm and tickets are $27. Winston's concerts feature a variety of styles including melodic folk piano, New Orleans R&B piano, and stride piano. Tickets and more information can be found at www.kroccda.org. Play On! Opens at Ignite

Ignite Community Theatre kicks off its 11th Season this Friday, September 18 with 'Play On!' This backstage comedy follows the week leading up to opening night of a small community theatre working with an original script. Laugh along as the company copes with constant changes from a fussy playwright, actors who can't quite get their lines down, and last minute technical problems. Blues-Rock group Indigenous coming to CdA Casino

Bluesy guitar riffs and hard rock drum beats will fill the night when four-man band, Indigenous, takes the stage at the Coeur d'Alene Casino Saturday, September 26. Appealing to fans of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, Indigenous will rock the Chinook Meadow beginning at 7 pm. General admission tickets start at $10.
