36th Annual Pig Out in the Park now through Labor Day



It's the biggest food and entertainment extravaganza of the year, and it's going on right today through Labor Day at Riverfront Park. The 36th Annual Pig Out in the Park features 45 food booths offering over 200 menu items, three adult beverage gardens, and 100 free concerts on three stages. Headlining this year are Big Brother and the Holding Company, Peter Rivera, Junior Brown, Too Slim, Nicole Lewis and many, many more.

I will be emceeing the City Hall stage introducing 32 great bands throughout the week including Sammy Eubanks, Chris Rieser and the Nerve, Cary Fly, Angela Marie Project, Yellow Dog, clumsy Lovers, Soul Proprietor and many more. Free Spokane Symphony concerts in the parks



This Labor Day weekend is a great time to see our Spokane Symphony orchestra for free. This Saturday, September 5 at 6pm, the Spokane Symphony will perform at Liberty Lake's Pavillion Park, for the 15th Annual Ludlow Kramer Memorial Concert that is the finale of The Friends of Pavillion Park's Summer Festival.

And, on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, the Spokane Symphony will perform once again at Comstock Park on Spokane's South Hill, celebrating 30 years of Labor Day concerts. The music begins at 6pm. In addition, the concert will be preceded by an Instrument Petting Zoo that gives kids a chance to try out their favorite instrument, while parents can enjoy displays from different arts organizations in the Fall Arts Preview. A donation will be taken during the concert to benefit Symphony Education programs.

So grab your picnic baskets and blankets and enjoy the Spokane Symphony this weekend as summer comes to a close.

Bryan White is a Grammy award winning multi-platinum and gold artist with 6 #1 singles and an armful of major awards. His hits include 'Someone Else's Star', 'Rebecca Lynn', 'I'm Not Supposed To Love You Anymore', and the iconic 'From This Moment On' with Shania Twain. He has recently co-starred with his wife Erika Page White on TNT's 'Private Lives Of Nashville Wives.' Unauthorized music videos of Bryan's song 'God Gave Me You' have over 16 million views. After a lengthy hiatus to raise his children, Bryan is back in full swing, touring and recording.

Nick Schauer and Rachel Aldridge at Left Bank Friday

Swinging Songbird, Rachel Aldridge will be performing at the Left Bank Tasting Room this Friday, September 4 with guitarist, Nick Schauer and special guest, outstanding Bassist, Scott Steed. Coeur d'Alene Symphony's free Concert in the Park

Labor Day, Septtember 7 at 1 pm, bring a lawn chair, bring a picnic, bring the family and enjoy the Coeur d'Alene Symphony at the Rotary Bandshell in Coeur d'Alene City Park.

They will be playing music from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Holst's 'Jupiter' from 'The Planets' and more.

Shania Twain, performing on Saturday, September 12



Shania Twain already announced that she's going to rock this country on her first North American tour in over 11 years, and now she's going to rock the Spokane Arena's 20th Anniversary Season. One of the world;s best-selling female artists, Shania Twain is set to bring her ROCK THIS COUNTRY TOUR to the Spokane Arena on Saturday, September 12.

Old Orchard Theatre presents 'A Night of Improv Comedy'

The Old Orchard Theatre in the Green Bluff Grange, 9809 E. Green Bluff Rd., presents improv comedy Saturdays, September 12, 19, and 26 at 7 pm. Each Saturday is a different show. 'Smoke and Hand' by Barb Campbell and Reid Ozaki at Trackside Gallery



Trackside Studio Ceramic Art Gallery, 115 S. Adams, presents Barb Campbell from Corvallis, Oregon and Reid Ozaki from Tacoma, as September's feature artists. Exhibit dates are September 4 - 30 with an opening reception, Friday, September 4 from 5-8 pm. Gallery hours through the month are Wednesday through Friday, 11am-3pm.

In conjunction with this feature exhibit, Reid Ozaki will offer a day-long demonstration, Saturday, September 5 from 10am-4pm.

Rocket Market Block Party & Fire Fundraiser Sept 10

It's been a long summer of road construction next to Rocket Market on the South Hill, and it's finally coming to a close. Join the folks at Rocket Market as they celebrate the end of summer...and getting back to normal with the end of road construction, for their Block Party, next Thursday, September 10 at 6pm. Mayor David Condon will be there to help celebrate the new road. There will also be live music, food, wine & beer available for purchase.

The Block Party will also be a fundraiser for Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, a non-profit run by firefighters and veterans, that delivers relief in the form of cash/gift cards and/or help with re-building, directly to the victims of wildfires in our area. Local food, beer & wine producers are teaming up with Rocket, donating their time and products to the cause. All of the sales of these items will go directly to the victims.
