Hoopin' it up in downtown Spokane!

It's Hoopfest weekend and it brings over 225,000 visitors to Spokane each year and the spending in restaurants, retail shops and businesses directly impacts the Spokane economy. Get downtown to see the games and cheer on the players braving the heat. For all the info go to spokanehoopfest.net.

FanFest is back for Hoopfest

The 3rd annual Spokane FanFest is back at the Spokane Convention Center & Breezeway held during the world's largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament. This FREE event on the Spokane River will feature live music at the floating stage, food trucks, refreshments, cold beverages, clean restrooms and a place to rest your weary bones; free seating inside or out.

Activities begin on Friday, June 26, at 11am with live music from 4 until 8pm. Start again on Saturday morning, June 27 at 7:30am with live music starting at 11am until 8pm. Sunday, June 28 it starts at 7:30am and until 1pm. Admission is free.

Local restaurants and food trucks present will be Whitehouse Grill, Alpine Deli, Casual Friday Donuts, Short Bus Bistro, Brain Freeze, Crepe Cafe, Le Catering Co. and Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese.

New this year - For those looking for a place to call their own during basketball chaos FanFest has the answer! Families, teams or companies can reserve a table or a room for the weekend. Prices begin at $100 for a table. When a table or room is rented, those at the table can bring in their own cooler with food and beverage (no alcohol). This is the only option downtown for service that allows outside food and beverage. Ordering of tables is done from the FanFest website with all table and room options listed. Rockin' B Ranch Opens for the Season this Friday & Saturday



The Rockin' B Ranch will open for another great season of Cowboy Supper Shows this Friday & Saturday, June 26 & 27. This will be their 21st Season!! The Riders of the Rockin' B are settling in for the summer and will be offering a supper show on selected weekends through October. The shows include a hilarious outdoor melodrama, a great BBQ supper, and a nostalgic hour of cowboy trail music performed by the Riders of the Rockin' B. Beer and wine are on offer at the house cantina.

Other performances this season will be monthly on Fridays and Saturdays through October: July 24 & 25, August 28 & 29, September 25 & 26 and October 9 & 10. The on-site ticket office will open for each show at 5:30pm; live pre-show music in the barn from 5:30pm to 6:15pm (cantina open for refreshments); and the fun and dinner continue through the evening.

Wallace Blues Fest is July 10-12

Vintage Spokane Returns For Fourth Year



One of Spokane's favorite food-and-wine experiences, Vintage Spokane, returns for its fourth-straight year on Sunday, July 19, bringing more than 50 wineries and gourmet food to the Spokane Convention Center. The event has more than doubled in size since its debut in 2011, with more wineries, more restaurants and more attendees creating an exciting atmosphere on par with the enthusiasm around the world for Washington's rapidly growing wine industry.

This year's Vintage Spokane will once again highlight the award-winning and up-and-coming wineries and restaurants throughout the Northwest, each offering samples of their incredible fare. Attendees will have the chance to taste wines from over 50 of the region's most celebrated wineries, and sample delicious culinary options from award-winning local restaurants. In addition, attendees will enjoy live cooking demos from top Northwest chefs, plus coffee and beer bars and more.

A portion of the event's proceeds will go to benefit the Spokane Youth Sports Association.

Fun at Liberty Lake for Independence Day

On Friday, July 3 at dusk, Friends of Pavillion Park in Liberty Lake will present the 20th Century Fox animated movie 'Rio 2.' Then Saturday, the 4th of July, enjoy the for the music of 8-piece band, Milonga starting at 6pm, and stay for the fireworks at Pavillion Park.

CdA Summer Theatre presents 'Singin' in the Rain'

July 9-16 at Coeur d'Alene's Kroc Center, dance and sing with Don, Cosmo, Kathy, and Lina in 'the best movie musical of all time'. 'Singin' in the Rain' features Hollywood in the 20s when silent pictures were giving way to the 'talkies'. This light-hearted spoof of frantic Hollywood with the advent of sound changes all the movie making rules and its Monumental Studios prepares for their romantic epic 'The Duelling Cavalier.' 'Singin in the Rain' includes some of the best-loved comedy routines, dance numbers and love ballads ever written. With a vintage score and book - and that torrential dance number - 'Singin' In the Rain' is 24-carat classic entertainment. (ages 6+ please).

The Spokane Public Library announces the public availability of thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, eBooks, audiobooks and comics, all available for mobile and online access through a new partnership with hoopla digital (hoopladigital.com).

Library cardholders (city residents or paid full access no-resident cards) can download the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or iOS device or visit hoopladigital.com to begin enjoying thousands of titles, from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers.

Titles are available to borrow 24/7, for instant streaming or temporary downloading to their smartphones, tablets; instant streaming is available on computers. This addition to the library's digital branch broadens their online offerings making the library truly a 24/7 place for information, education and entertainment.

Dancing with the Stars 'Perfect 10 Tour'

Following a sold-out winter tour and the 10th Anniversary Season of ABC's hit show 'Dancing with the Stars,' Dancing with the Stars: Live! is coming to the INB Performing Arts Center Wednesday, July 8 at 7:30pm. Season 20 'Dancing with the Stars' champion Rumer Willis will join the cast of dancing professionals in 25 cities across the US, including Spokane.
