Coeur d'Alene is singing the blues this weekend

It's the biggest blues weekend in the inland northwest, The Coeur d'Alene Blues Festival, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 27-29 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Tonight, March 25 Enjoy great comedy on stage at 8 at Ridler's Dueling piano bar formerly Gibliano's at 718 W. Riverside. Nick Theisen, Ken McComb, Jason Komm, and Ryan McComb are on stage. Ridler's has comedy every Wednesday night at 8. Come on down and have some laughs.



This Friday and Saturday, March 27 & 28 J. Wendell Walker's 55th Anniversary tour starts at Uncle D's Comedy Underground and will end on July 17th. Jay's actual first paid gig was on a Sunday night at Vic's, which used to be on Main next to where Nectar Tasting Room is now. This week the shows are Friday and Saturday nights at 8 at Uncle D's at Bluz at the Bend, 2721 N Market. Nick Theisen and Jim Green are also along for laughs. Friday the cover is $10 Saturday it is $12.

This Saturday, March 28 at 8pm at the Bing Crosby Theater, enjoy the Boomerang Baby Boomer Comedy Bash, featuring three great comedians. It's a retro laugh-fest with David Gee, Kat Simmons and Marc Yaffee including stories, jokes and observations about growing up in the 60's and 70's. Next weekend, April 3 & 4, Andrew Ouelltte is gearing up for a US tour called 'Knock'em Dead' with fellow comedian Jake Daniels, which they are filming for Netflix. The Spokane portion of the tour includes Uncle D's Comedy Club April 3 & 4, the Viking Tavern April 5 (Adam Lee makes guest appearance) and Crickets in Coeur d'Alene April 8. Hair at the Bing April 17 and 18

Hair is a musical theater event full of honest passion giving it the inspirational quality of true theater celebration. James Rado, Gerome Ragni and Galt MacDermot's book, lyrics and music tell the story of the 'tribe', a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the 'Age of Aquarius' living a bohemian life in New York City. Claude, his good friend Berger, their roommate Sheila and their friends struggle to balance their young lives, loves and pacifist ideals with their conservative parents and society. This high spirited and contagious musical is expertly directed by Abbey Crawford.

'Clue: The Musical' at Civic's Studio Theatre

The ABBA Show at the Bing June 30

Spokane Symphony's Eastern Journeys

Explore the sounds of the Middle East this weekend at The Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, as the Spokane Symphony with Conductor Eckart Preu take you on a musical journey. From the Persian Empire with Iranian-born composer Behzad Ranjbaran's 'Seven Passages,' to Mohammed Fairouz's 'Tahrir for Clarinet and Orchestra,' featuring Daniel Cotter as soloist. Also on the program is Leonard Bernstein's choral masterpiece 'Chichester Psalms,' sung in Hebrew.

Uncorked! Comes to the Fox March 27

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Inland Northwest Chapter is hosting the 8th Annual Uncorked! a special evening of Wine, Beer, and Spirits Tasting and Auction to be held this Friday, March 27 from 6-9pm at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. The event will spotlight four local wineries (including Coeur d'Alene Cellars and Patit Creek Cellars) and local brewery, Waddell's, Cocktails by Cody, and small bites with each offering. A Silent Auction will round out the evening. And for the first time, the chapter will bestow the 'Spirit of NAWBO' Award to a local company with a history of support for women owned business concerns.

Funds raised by this event are used to support NAWBO chapter activities and 'Transitions', a Spokane based non-profit organization that works to end poverty and homelessness for area women and children. Tickets are $65 and available through Ticketswest at www.ticketswest.com or 800-325-SEAT.
