Chris and Marianne Bornhoft star in a TV show Sunday




Local Spokane REALTORS Chris and Marianne Bornhoft are the featured guests on a popular TV show, 'Sweet Retreats' that will air this Sunday, June 8th at 7:30 pm on Comcast Channel 301. The show, hosted by former CBS morning show reporter Rene Syler, is on the Livewell Network, owned by Disney. It was filmed on South Whidbey Island and features vacation rentals.


Laugh with George Lopez Sunday at Northern Quest



The multi-talented television, film, standup comedy and late night television star, George Lopez, will perform two shows at Northern Quest Resort and Casino this Sunday, June 8 at 5 and 8 pm. Festival of Speed this weekend at Spokane County Raceway




The 2014 Spokane Festival of Speed Vintage Car race is this Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8 on the 2.25 mile road race course at Spokane County Raceway. Mark Griffith at the Brickwall




The Brickwall Photographic Gallery, at 530 W. Main on the skywalk just east of Macy's in the Bennett Block, is featuring Seattle photographer J. Mark Griffith for June's First Friday Artwalk. Free Friday Concerts at The Manito Park Bench Cafe

This Friday, June 6 from 6-8pm, enjoy the music of Matt Russell at the Manito Park Bench Cafe. Enjoy great food and beverages at the Cafe during the concert and during regular hours. Pre-season hours at the Cafe are Fridays 9am-7:30pm and Saturdays 9am-5pm. Starting Friday, June 13, the Cafe is open for the season 8am-7pm everyday, and open until 8pm on Fridays for the concerts. Tickets for Soiree on the Edge Series at Arbor Crest on Sale Today




The Spokane Symphony and music director Eckart Preu have teamed up again this summer for two concerts for the Soiree on the Edge Series at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars Cliff House. 'Sunset Symphony' is Wednesday, August 13 at 7pm and 'Sunset Serenade' will be Wednesday, August 20 at 8pm. Music selections will be announced closer to the concert dates.

Tickets go on sale today for the two-concert series and is currently only available by subscription. Prices are $70 for table seating under the tent and $35 for general admission on the lawn. Limerick Literary Pub Crawl & Dinner June 16

The Spokane-Limerick Sister City Society's 5th Annual Literary Pub Crawl & Ploughman's Dinner is Monday, June 16. The event will be led by Bagpiper William Clark.
The Pub Crawl begins at 5:30pm at O'Dougherty's Irish Grille, and continues on to the Post Street Ale House, The Satellite Pub, Lucky's Pub and concludes at Herbal Essence Cafe, all downtown Spokane. Enjoy a wonderful evening of readings, music, food, drinks, and great fun.

Monarch's Mantle to play at Luxe Ballroom June 7




Monarch's Mantle presents 'Monarch Arises' this Saturday, June 7, 8:30pm at the Luxe Ballroom, 1017 W. 1st Avenue in Spokane. In addition to Monarch's Mantle performing a number of original songs, the evening will include music from local artists Andy Rumsey, Gabe Knox, and Particlehead.

Monarch's Mantle is an up and coming band that is gaining a following playing at downtown venues such as Luxe Coffee House and on college campuses. The four members grew up in the Inland Northwest, but first got together on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. They returned to Spokane to pursue their dream of changing their generation through their passion for music. The band features Malachi Burrow (lead vocals and piano), his sister Sarah (guitar and vocals), Israel Cody (banjo, percussion and vocals) and Silas French (lead guitar and vocals) creating an alternative folk sound that is loved by many.

Manito Park Plant Sale this Saturday

The Friends of Manito will have their big spring plant sale event this Saturday, June 7 starting at 9am. With over 200 plants, including colorful shrubs, vines, perennials and ornamental grasses, this sale is not to be missed! The Plant sale takes place just east of the Gaiser Conservatory, which is 4 West 21st. There will also be lectures and demonstrations throughout the day. Members of The Friends of Manito get an early start at the sale from 8-9am. The sale is open to the public from 9am-4pm.

This Thursday's Performance on the Patio features the pop country music of Nicole Lewis Trio, and jewelry by artist Kathy LeFrancis, this Thursday, June 5. Concert runs from 5:30-7:30pm. No cover.

This Sunday, June 8, Bakin Phat performs Boogie Blue, starting at 5:30pm to dusk. $8 cover. Tickets are general admission seating. Guests are permitted to bring portable lawn chairs or blankets. Spokane Table Tennis players move to the HUB




The Spokane Table Tennis group has begun regular play at the HUB Sports Center in the Spokane Valley. The group plays on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6pm to 9pm. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to drop by, according to John Trevethan, STT president. Cost is $3.00 per evening. There is no membership fee for STT.
