Easter drama 'Behold Jesus' at the INB this Saturday


Spokane Dream Center, a non-denominational Christian church, presents 'Behold Jesus,' an Easter Drama this Saturday, April 19 at 1:00pm and 6:30pm. In its 17th year with a cast of more than 150, this is the largest Easter production in the Inland Northwest. This drama portrays the life and teachings of Jesus according to the Gospel accounts. People of all ages, cultures and walks of life are welcome to attend this free event.


Party in Pink - 'The Pink Tie Affair' April 25 to Benefit Susan G. Komen




Join the Pink Tie Guys on Race for the Cure Weekend for The Pink Tie Affair, Friday, April 25 from 8pm-12am at The Vault Social Club, 120 N Wall in downtown Spokane.

Time to Party in Pink! Live DJ's including Pink Tie Guy Freaky Fred and Pink Tie Guy Demetrius Phillips, performing his breast cancer awareness rap song! They will auction (live!) a Seattle Seahawk's Hot Pink shoe from the Superbowl winning season and silent auctions, too. Also a VIP lounge, games and prizes, and an 'Extreme Pink Ensemble' contest.

Miss Myrtle Woldson passes away



Spokane philanthropist and arts patron Myrtle Woldson died last Friday at her home at the age of 104. She donated $3 million in her father's name for the restoration of the Fox Theater. The classic theatre is now called the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox.

Miss Woldson also gave $1.2 million to help restore the Moore-Turner Heritage Garden in Edwidge Woldson Park, formerly Pioneer Park, on West 7th Avenue.

Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Expo 74 on May 3




On May 3rd, gather at the INB lobby with friends, neighbors and community members to celebrate the legacy of Expo '74, especially the creation of the heart of Spokane, Riverfront Park. From noon-4pm see a wide array of Expo '74 photos, artifacts and other assorted memorabilia. The cost is a suggested donation of $4, the price of a one-day admission to Expo '74.

The special 40th anniversary Gala that evening in the Convention Center Ballroom includes a cocktail reception from 6 to 7pm, dinner and program from 7 to 8:30, then dessert and drinks from 8:30 to 10 in the INB lobby. Last chance to see two Civic Theatre shows this weekend

The Civic's Academy Fundraiser 'Pinkalicious' on the studio stage and 'The Three Musketeers' on the Main Stage both run through this weekend. 'Pinkalicious' plays at 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, April 19 and 'Three Musketeers' runs Thursday through Saturday.

7th annual Jazzed for Justice features Julia Keefe




The 7th annual Jazzed for Justice is Wednesday, May 7th at 5:30pm at Hamilton Studio, 1427 W Dean. The event's musical guest is the acclaimed jazz vocalist Julia Keefe. Julia has been hailed by Spokane 7 as a "young jazz diva who has been turning heads with her sweet, sultry singing style and smooth scat runs."

Doors open at 5:30pm with music beginning at 6:00pm. Event tickets are $30 each and will cover hearty appetizers from London's Ultimate Catering and one drink ticket. Additional drink tickets can be purchased for $5. The bar will include beer from local River City Brewing and wine from Whitestone Winery. The Hamilton Studio is west of the Spokane County Courthouse at 1427 W. Dean Avenue.

Boston's back in Spokane Sept. 4. Tickets on sale Friday

Tom Scholz' band Boston will embark on a highly anticipated summer and fall tour following the successful release of their latest album, 'Life, Love & Hope,' and will perform live at the Star Theatre at Spokane Arena on Thursday, September 4. They will be joined on their tour date in Spokane by Night Ranger.
