Symphony at Sunset tomorrow at Arbor Crest



The music, the wine, the hillside vistas, the fresh air. At Soiree on the Edge, on the lawn of the beautiful Arbor Crest Winery, you will share with those around you an exciting array of musical experiences. Music Director Eckart Preu and the orchestra musicians will serenade you tonight from 7 to 9 pm. Bat Boy: The Musical ends Saturday at Lake City Playhouse



Audiences are raving about Bat Boy: the Musical playing through Saturday at Lake City Playhouse at 1320 E. Garden in Coeur D'Alene. Based on a 1992 story in The Weekly World News, this musical comedy about a half boy/half bat creature deals with serious issues such as hypocrisy, acceptance, forgiveness and racism. Bat Boy yearns for acceptance and tries to join society yet he is only faced with hatred and violence.

Directed by Troy Nickerson with music directed by Zachariah Baker

August at the Pacific Flyway Gallery



This month the Pacific Flyway Gallery at 409 S. Dishman-Mica Road in Spokane Valley introduces and celebrates some of the new talent emerging in our community. August's feature is "The Emerging Artist Show", featuring Patricia Hooper-watercolor and mixed media, Linda Sanderg-acrylics, Travis Chapman- acrylics (his painting "Upper Spokane Falls" is shown above) and Melody Fyre-polymer clay original jewelry. The show runs through the end of the August. Join us for a meet the artists event on Thursday Aug. 8th 4pm to 7pm.

Also at the Pacific Flyway Gallery is "Dedicated to Art" presenting the Kathleen Cavender student exposition. The show features the art works of Erika Fleck-pastels, and Dawn Wilcox-pastels. Meet the artists on Thursday August 15th from 4 to 7pm.

Last days of David Douglas exhibit at the MAC

The unique exhibition, David Douglas: A Naturalist at Work is coming to the end of its run at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture (MAC). The last day to experience this expansive Spokane exhibit is Sunday, August 25. The MAC is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. A preview of all exhibits and events can be seen a northwestmuseum.org.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks at Liberty Lake



On Sunday, August 25th, at 5:00pm, Friends of Pavillion Park will present the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks play "Henry V".

Admission to the performance is free. Audiences are encouraged to show up prior to the appointed start time with chairs, blankets, a picnic supper, and friends and family to enjoy the evening. Concessions will be available through the Liberty Lake Kiwanis.
