Kyle Paliotto at Coeur d'Alene's Art Spirit Gallery

The Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene is featuring a show of 25 new oil paintings by Hayden artist Kyle Paliotto. Meet Kyle at the Opening Reception and ArtWalk this Friday from 5-8.

Kyle gathers imagery from the beautiful rustic landscape of his local surroundings in North Idaho. He searches out rural settings which display a time gone by when harmony between land and man existed. His style is one that takes from impressionism without disregarding the discipline of representational art up to the early 1900's. Painting plein air on location is essential to his process but the real meat and potatoes is in the studio.

Go to theartspiritgallery.com for all the details and to see the show online.

Poison and Ratt at Northern Quest Friday at 8

Northern Quest welcomes 80s rockers Poison, with special guest Ratt, to the 2013 Pepsi Summer Concert Series Outdoor Concert Venue this Friday, July 12at 8pm.

During the 80s Glam Metal movement where power ballads were big and the hair was even bigger, Poison ruled the party rock genre with hits such as 'Nothin' But A Good Time', 'Talk Dirty To Me', 'Unskinny Bop' and their Billboard Number 1 hit 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn.' In recent years, Poison has found renewed success with the release of several Greatest Hits compilations and sold out concerts in both the U.S. and abroad. Poison's lead singer, Brett Michaels, has also enjoyed solo career success with his own VH1 reality series, 'Rock of Love', and as the winner in 2010 of Donald Trump's reality show competition, 'Celebrity Apprentice'. All the original band members are back together. Joining Poison for this special show is Ratt, whose consecutive platinum albums and hits such as 'Round and Round' and 'Lay It Down' earned them their place in the foreground of the Glam Metal Rock movement.
