Step back in time this weekend at the farm heritage show
The annual Eastern Washington Farm Heritage Show is a favorite for Spokane Valley Heritage Museum executive director Jayne Singleton. The sixth annual Eastern Washington Farm Heritage Show will be Friday through May 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 10200 E. Sprague Ave Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 7 through 17, or $15 for families of five.
The show celebrates the area's history with hands-on exhibits. The show's site has no water or electricity - giving demonstrations of similar conditions to how settlers lived. Before Spokane Valley built roads, housing developments and shopping malls, the area was full of berry farms and orchards. There will be a thresher, which volunteers will use to thresh oats. New this year will be weavers and spinners. Old methods of cooking will also be explored, with a display of vintage kitchen utensils and antique aprons.

Relay For Life of Coeur d'Alene this weekend
Relay For Life of Coeur d'Alene is this Friday at 6 pm and Saturday at 8 am at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. This free family fundraising event for the American Cancer Society includes live entertainment, live/silent auctions, a kids' area with bouncy houses, games and activities, food and more.

Small works of art show
Shotgun Studio, 1625 W. Water Ave. in Peaceful Valley presents a small works of art show Noon-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. "Grease" opens Friday at Civic
"Grease," the spirit of the 50's musical, opens Friday and runs through May 17 - June 16. It is directed by Yvonne A.K. Johnson, with Music Direction by David Brewster and Choreography by Ali Waid.
In addition to the musical numbers included in the original musical, Spokane Civic Theatre has secured the rights to present the popular songs from the movie version: "Grease," "Hopelessly Devoted To You," "Sandy," and "You're The One That I Want."

The Farm Chicks Antiques Show Anticipates Record Breaking Numbers
The first weekend in June, this year June 1-2, marks the date each year in Spokane when thousands of shoppers descend upon the city for the highly anticipated Farm Chicks Antiques Show at the Spokane Fairgrounds. Last year's event drew more than 10,000 visitors and they expect more this year.
The show debuted in the countryside, just outside of Spokane in 2002 and has grown increasingly over the years, due in part to national recognition from popular magazines: Country Living, Country Home, Flea Market Style, Romantic Homes, Flea Market Decor, and most recently, Woman's World.

McCurdy Community Room dedicated at Interplayers
Jim and Mary Ann McCurdy have been honored for their years of service to Interplayers Theatre by the dedication of the recently finished McCurdy Community Room. In the same spirit of generosity that the McCurdys showed to the community, Interplayers offers the use of the room to community organizations for meetings or events
Interplayers Board Member Jamie Flannery and Actor-Director Michael Weaver opened the dedication gathering May 10. Weaver remarked, "These are the best two board members Interplayers has ever had." Mary Ann McCurdy responded that the accomplishments resulted "from a team of individuals and organizations that joined in the efforts." Jim McCurdy said "When you see the name McCurdy on the wall, think of a composite character that includes just about every person in town."
Bada Bing is back June 15
The second installment of The Bada Bing! Comedy Series has been set for Saturday, June 15th. This time, 3 award winning professional comedians will take to the stage at The Bing Crosby Theater. Reserved seat Tickets are once again only $15 and will go on sale May 10th at 10AM at all TicketsWest outlets. The show is not recommended for children and beer and wine are available. Local comedian Ken Martin will emcee.
