Ric Gendron book signing at Tinman Nov 9

The new Ric Gendron book, Rattlebone, which accompanies his 5-museum exhibit tour, is hot off the presses and the advance review copies are out. On Friday, November 9, Tinman Artworks at 809 W. Garland Avenue will host a launch party and book signing. Ric will be there to sign and to talk with his fans about his work and the upcoming museum tour.

The book is a gorgeous hardcover with full color reproductions throughout. There is an excellent introductory essay by Ben Mitchell, project director, that places Ric's work into the context of contemporary art as well as showing its roots in Native American culture. The bulk of the book is full page reproductions of Ric's paintings, spanning his entire working career beginning in the 70's. There is also a section on the handmade beaded work and baskets made by other Gendron family members, also of museum quality. This is a splendid testament to the creative achievements of one of Spokane's great artists that should win Ric even more acclaim on a national scale.

Tinman's phone number is 509-325-1500.

'Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me's' Paula Poundstone! At the Bing.

It's impossible to attend a Paula Poundstone performance without marveling at her ability to interact spontaneously with audience members in conversations bound to garner riotous laughter. Armed with nothing but a stool, a microphone, and a can of Diet Pepsi, Paula's ability to create humor on the spot has become the stuff of legend. Little wonder people leave Paula's shows debating whether the random people she talked to were 'plants' - which, of course, they never are, and complaining that their cheeks hurt from laughter.

Come enjoy this great show Thursday, November 8, 7:30pm at the Bing Crosby Theater. For tickets and information go to bingcrosbytheater.com.
