Chef Magana gained an excellent reputation as the premier wine country chef in the Columbia Basin, Prosser and Yakima with his winery event catering and restaurant Picazo 717. Frank's newest venture, Chef Magana Catering, continues that tradition and gets Frank back to his roots of working directly with wineries.

Heroes & Legends with the Spokane Symphony

The Spokane Symphony with conductor Morihiko Nakahara and pianist Martina Filjak will perform works of Rossini, Mozart and Beethoven. Concert performances are held at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, this Saturday, January 28 at 8pm and Sunday, January 29 at 3pm. Spokane International Film Festival starts Thursday

The 14th annual Spokane International Film Festival, which starts Thursday, January 26 and runs through February 4, is a small, selective offering of world-class films. These are the very best features, documentaries and shorts that have been made around the world during the past two years but have not yet been commercially released for wide distribution. In fact they are the same films as those seen each year at the Cannes, New York or Toronto film festivals, and our programmers travel widely to screen and select them.

The 11 day Festival will be held at the Magic Lantern, 25 West Main Avenue; the Garland, 942 West Garland; AMC River Park Square, 808 West Main; and the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 West Sprague. Festival passes are $250; 10-movie passes are $90; individual movies are $10; matinees are $8.

'Cupid for a Cause' bachelor-bachelorette auction Feb 4

To raise money and awareness for Camp Goodtimes, a facility for children recovering from cancer in Post Falls, Idaho, the American Cancer Society chapter of Spokane is holding a bachelor / bachelorette auction. 'Cupid for a Cause' will give attendees the opportunity to bid on a variety of bachelors / bachelorettes, exciting date packages targeted to couples, art, food and wine, electronics and more. All proceeds will go to support Camp Goodtimes. The event will take place at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, at Northern Quest Casino's Pavilion Room.

'Cupid for a Cause' will feature 6 bachelors and bachelorettes between 21-45 years old, but couples are encouraged to bid on the bachelor's date package for themselves. Date packages include a couple's stay and play package from Northern Quest Casino to a picnic lunch and sailing on Lake Pend Oreille. Attendees can also bid on items ranging from restaurant gift certificates to tickets for four to the Gonzaga vs. St. Mary's game. The event will feature dancing and entertainment and food and beverages will be provided by Northern Quest Casino.

Entry tickets of $20 will go to support Camp Goodtimes-East and can be purchased by calling Crystal Schaeffer at the American Cancer Society at 509-242-8291 or at the door.

America's Favorite Cowboy's to Ride with the Spokane Symphony

Icons of Western music, Riders In The Sky will perform with the Spokane Symphony under the baton of Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, February 4 at 8 pm. These two-time Grammy winners have spent 30 years keeping the tradition passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing the genre with a heavy dose of humor.

Riders In The Sky will play a program of Western favorites such as 'Cool Water', 'Yellow Rose of Texas', 'Back in the Saddle Again', and '(Ghost) Riders in the Sky', as well as one of their Grammy winning numbers: Woody's Roundup Medley from the movie 'Toy Story 2'. Although Riders In The Sky (a.k.a. America's Favorite Cowboys) can hold their own musically, their music sounds even better backed by Spokane Symphony playing their outstanding orchestrations.

'Journeys' to benefit Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank

7th Annual Jazz Concert, Dessert & Auction

A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody

It's New Year's Eve at the Perry mansion, and Julia and Matthew Perry seem to have it all. But Matthew wants something more -- to be rid of his wife Julia so he can have some real fun! He resolves to murder Julia by the new year's end, and tells her so. She vows to stay alive, and tells him so. And so the game begins -- a hilarious year-long match of wits and the witless. While Julia cleverly dodges Matthew's devious murder attempts, the Perry friends and staff are dying off mysteriously.

Ignite Theatre presents 'A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody' for a total of six performances over 4 days: February 3rd at 8pm, February 4th at 2pm & 8pm, February 10th at 8pm, February 11th at 2pm & 8pm. Carl Richardson at the Tinman

Popular Spokane Falls Community College art professor Carl Richardson is opening a black and white show of completely new photographs and charcoal drawings this Friday, January 27 at the Tinman Gallery, 811 West Garland. The large scale photos depict dancers in non-traditional settings, transposed from the dance floor to an urban setting. This will be Carl's third show with Tinman. Come and talk to Carl about his work this Friday evening at our Artist Reception from 5 to 8 pm with live music and light refreshments.

Molly Marmot & the Northeast Community Center celebrate Groundhog Day!

Molly Marmot and the Northeast Community Center have teamed up to bring you 'Molly the Marmot Mixes it Up! A Cookbook/Storybook for the Young & Young at Heart.' Stories are sprinkled throughout telling of Molly's worldwide adventures as she seeks out the very best recipes. Throughout her travels she meets many wonderful friends who not only expose her to new foods but also new cultures and beautiful lands.

All proceeds will help continue to provide the facility where a community of agencies work together to meet the most basic needs of families on their journey to becoming and remaining self-sufficient. For over 30 years these agencies have served the northeast neighborhoods of Spokane.

Celebrate Molly's favorite holiday (Groundhog Day), Friday, February 3rd, from 4:30 to 6:30pm as one of Molly's friends will be signing the storybook/cookbooks at Hastings at 15312 E Sprague Avenue in Veradale.
