Silver Mountain Celebrates Jackass Day $11 lift tickets on Friday, Jan 6th

Jackass Ski Bowl on Wardner Peak opened to the public on January 7th, 1968 with a single Riblet chair lift located at the end of an adventurous drive to the Tamarack Lodge. This year, to celebrate our humble beginnings, Silver Mountain Resort is offering retro prices this Friday, January 6th, of $11 plus tax for a day of skiing, snowboarding and a party at Moguls located on the upper level of the Mountain House.

Jackass Ski Bowl operated for just 4 years after which the name was changed to Silverhorn Ski Area. In 1990, the name was changed to Silver Mountain after a major expansion of trails on Kellogg Peak, 4 new chair lifts and installation of the world's longest single stage gondola which eliminated the slow and treacherous drive up the mountain. Today, Silver Mountain Resort is an all-season destination offering 1,600 acres of skiable terrain, nearly 300 luxury condominiums in the base village, Idaho's largest indoor water park and a spectacular new mountain golf course which opened in 2010.

Despite all of the resort's modern amenities, Jackass Day is all about skiing and snowboarding on the mountain. All those willing to share their exploits are invited to do so as they enjoy complimentary cake at 2pm in Moguls. In addition, guests are encouraged to wear or bring their Jackass Ski Bowl and Silverhorn Ski Area logo wear including hats, patches, jackets and posters. For more information, visit www.silvermt.com or call 208-783-1524.
